For the Next Generation

When we created 1862 Collections we had one group in mind, the next generation.

We also had one question: How are we as a company going to do better for them?

It all started with our team writing down their own goals, values and ideas for the company. Once we had a (very) long list, we came together to see which ideas, goals and values overlapped the most.

This list below is what came of that meeting, the key points that define our company, our products and our team.

• We want to be transparent: We are taking steps towards being a fully sustainable brand, but we are not quite there yet. We intend to keep you updated every step of the way. Next month we will publish our supply chain, so you can see exactly where your products are coming from. We are also aware we are going to make plenty of mistakes! Feel free to call us out on our mistakes, say hi or ask general questions at hello@1862collections.com!

• We want to create: We don’t want to just make products and sell them to you, instead, we want to tell stories and if the products resonate with you great! And if not? Then we aren’t for you, and that’s okay! We want to bring in artists with the vision to see past what is here, and can imagine the possibilities for what’s next.

• We want to be modern: You will never see us shoving unrelated paid ads at you begging you to buy our products. We want you to be as inspired by nature, adventure, fashion and storytelling as we are, and find us.

• We want to be different: We want to design and produce high quality pieces that bridge the gap between fashion and adventure, and aren’t average in any way, shape, or form. We want to match our products with content and stories that engage you, and inspire you to take that next step, go on that trip, and to say YES to adventure.

• We want to be sustainable: We are on a path towards creating a fully sustainable company as fast as possible. We know it can’t happen overnight, but we take steps on a monthly basis to learn, improve and implement new concepts that lower our carbon footprint and inspire others to do the same. Our first step in that process is taking bi-product “waste” in the form of animal hides that would otherwise be burned, from farming industry and turning them into long-lasting, high quality products for you.
